Default Uh-oh... Both driving lights not working

I had a headlight bulb burn out, and I was outraged to discover the owners' manual directed me to my dealership for replacement! I looked behind the lamp module, and I could tell it would be a cast-iron b!tch for me to do the replacement on my own without any directions. So I succumbed and went to the dealership for this procedure. While I was at it, I bought two new driving lights for them to install, too. They got everything installed, tested their handy work, patted me on the head, and sent me on my way. I saw them test the new lamps, and all worked fine.

This evening, as dusk and cooler/denser air arrived, I decided to go for a quick spin to gauge the effectiveness of my new driving lamps (Silver Stars). When I rolled the switch on the stalk to the ON position, neither driving lamp came lit. The headlight bulbs work fine. The parking light bulbs work fine. But, no driving lights. Gosh, they're just hours old...

I think maybe the tech touched the bulbs with bare skin, dirty gloves, or both, transferring oils to the bulbs. The first time those bulbs got HOT, poof! Both of them blew. Could there be any other likely explanation? Please kindly advise. Thank you.

Go back and explain the problem. When you take it in, make sure you don't blame the tech. Just say that they don't work and i'm sure they will take care of it.

Here's more information...

The driving lights must be dual element bulbs: One wattage for driving light mode, another wattage for hi-beam mode. I put the brights on, and they worked. So, the bulbs are dark when switched to driving lights, and the bulbs seem to work fine when switched to the hi-beams. I'm more confused now than I was before.
