Cool Overhead Festoon LED lights II

So this is my second go around with the festoon lights in the ceiling. My first swap from from stock to a 4 LED replacement. Last week I found 6 LED replacements that would fit so here we go again. The 6 LEDs are of the much larger size than the 4 LED ones and put out a whole lot more light.

They fit inside my 2005 with a bit of room to spare. To open the light fixture check your owner's manual. You simply take a flat bladed screw driver and work it into the inside edge of each plasic lens. The things pop out, just be gentle and pull downwards to avoid snapping the tiny legs off the lens.

Compared to the 4 LED lights they're much brighter. It's really hard to capture the light as it's beamed downwards but I have to keep the camera off to the side to get proper exposure.

Here's comparison to the stock bulb, again the LED's are beaming their light downwards into the car where the stock lights are scattering it in all directions.

It's not quite dark enough here but I'll take some more shots once it gets dark enough to show how bright these guys are - I'm 110% happier with the 6 LED bulbs.

www.autolumination.com/festoon.htm $6.99 each in super white or blue.

Oh wow! Those are nice!!! I like the fact that it's brighter. I was looking at the 4 LED setup but this one looks a lot better. Thanks!

Those four tiny LED's put out a polite amount of light - enough to see around the interior but not enough to say read a map. It was a very subtle light.

Here's your interior picture with the 6 LED lights in a totally dark garage. The blue in the background is from the wheel well lights - note brightness of the carefully placed 7up can. It is hard to tell on black leather car how bright the lights are. Even with my old eyes map reading wouldn't be difficult.

These are Super White lights - the source is above $6.99 each - they are at least as bright as stock lights but the light is more focused, "cleaner", and direct.

I guess it's kind of off topic, but those pix made me realize how much I like the Z's interior during the night time.

Yes highly recommended - but I'm an LED freak if you couldn't tell. I like that they draw very little power and produce very little heat. I'm the kind of fool who has left their overhead lights on over night and started off to work with a dead battery. That's impossible to do with the LED's.

I bought a set of these.. Had them on for a month.. Didn't like it.. It's more "mood lighting" than useful because like someone said before you can't read a map under this light and that gets kinda old after a while..plus it made my red seats appear purple/pink at night and frankly looked a little bit "ricey"

so I took them out..
