Default clear plastic maintenance...

Is there any way to get fine scratches out of the plastic that covers the front dash (gas/tach/speedo) I tried a few polish compounds and acrylic plastic maintenance products, but it didn't help all that much. Is there any special product that can get those scratches out, or at least make them better? Thanks.

Depends on how deep the scratches are really. If they're only light try a metal polishing paste to remove the bulk and then finish it off with the plastic polish.

If deeper you'd have to disassemble then wet sand using say 500, then 1000 then 2000 then the metal polish then plastic polish. If you have to sand be prepared to spend several hours working on it for a perfect finish. Oh and do the entire area, not just the scratches, the end result will be better.

I used the sanding method to remove the raised lettering from the various lights on my MX-5 Miata (http://www.apsilon.com/matt/mx5/index.htm)

BTW how did you manage to scratch it?.
