You painted your intercooler?!?! BWAHAHA. Nice job killing your intercooler's efficiency. Should have had it anodized.

Actually, it depends what you paint it with. I painted my IC with a thin radiator paint and the coating is super thin.

Its really not a big deal, some people prefer showing off.. I prefer keeping it more subtle, especially living in Los Angeles where stuff like this is completely illegal and can get your car sent to the ref station where ALL your modifications are pretty much in violation of every code in existence.

A polished exhaust, an unpainted intercooler.. all these attract attention which I could care less about. Not to mention people driving down the street who like to waste my time trying to race or thieves who see this stuff when my car is parked.

Some people prefer subtleties.

I have a black grill in front as well. My mechanic (knows me well personally) figured rightly so that I'd prefer the sleeper approach and the all black. I was trying to keep the car clean and .. I won't say subtle... but clean I guess. He did use a radiator paint, which is why I had mentioned "painted radiators" earlier. (Oops guess that was a private message). Anyhow I'm really not too worried about it. I am running stock boost, and I'm not redlining and beating the engine all day every day. I'm happy with my choice.

If there is a negative effect, it is probably minimal. If you like the look, go for it! It does look stealthy for sure...nice.
