has anyone done this?
i have heard of people that have either a g or z 5at in 03-05 models that just get an aftermarket shift ****. Then they take out the circle plastic part that shows the P,R,N,D sign and get a 6mt shift boot and just cover it up. (i have heard the plastic circle piece can not be removed.) As their end result they basically have a booted 5at. You can shift just like normal but the ugly plastic part is covered up in a nice clean boot. I just recently heard about this and i think its a pretty cool idea. Not sure if I'm going to do it, but its another mod to think of. Anyone with any information regarding this would be cool. Thanks in advance to all your replys.
I'm pretty sure this guy I met at the Car & Driver Racer Series in Detroit had that set-up. I noticed it because the shift boot was yellow, but I didn't ask how he did it, it looked cool.
It looks good, check out the one that was posted in my thread.
