Default Z Floor mats suck!

Well, mine did. I have an 05, I got the floor mat package with the front ones and rear trunk with Z emblem, I wear normal tennis shoes, adiddas, nike, and I wear dress shoes Kenneth Cole with the big round bottom, anyways, after a few months I noticed my floor mats wearing down when I got the car brand new, I went into the dealer and just talked to some random salesman and he said there was nothing they could do. After they wore down to what is pictured I went back to the dealer saying I wanted them replaced because I didnt want to damage the carpet underneath, they said I was just out of the warranty because of miles (I was at 12 months old last month) and that I should call 1800nissan1. I did, and they got me some new floor mats! They got me the 06 style with that rubber peice where my clutch foot and gas foot are, I dont think Ill wear these down anytime soon

Anyways, I was interested in seeing how many of you had this problem as well, enjoy the pics, I didnt enjoy owning these....

I put an extra heavy duty mat over mine. Take them off for shows. Keeps the real ones really nice.

Had the same mats for 3 years and they are nowhere NEAR what yours look like...

and for the record, I prefer new balance or puma sneakers, clarks wallabees as dress shoes, and timberland boots, but I wear birkenstocks or flipflops 70% of the time...

I had my Z for 3yrs. now and they are still brand new, well The first day I got my car I bought a set of clear mats at pep boys, they help protect the originals really well. I take them off when I take the ladies out =)

I put clear rubber "winter" type mats in my Z from Dec-March, doesn't look that great but I don't really care, it protects the floor and it looks good the other 8 months of the year.

Here's a suggestion to extend the life of the mats. Trade them from one side to another. You can also turn each around with the “Z” at the top.

Serious, I have done nothing different with these mats then with my other cars, and I never ever had this problem. In my last car, a 6 speed VR4, I had ****ing Kragen $30 floor mats, they lasted 2 years no wear!! What my thought was they used some cheap material to keep the cost down because that Z emblem is probably expensive....who knows, maybe I shift harder in the Z :P

I wouldnt be spinning the the floor mat around like that, there is always the possible danger of it getting caught under/on the gas or clutch, I had that happen one time when a floor mat got bunched up...

Careful... those aftermarket floor mats may void your warranty!

I must have gotten some defectos, I do drive alot though, lots of short trips to work, GF's work, misc, I have an 05 that right now is 12.5 months old it has just rolled over past 18K miles, now can someone that is good at math do this for me....

My rear tires that I can happily say have been replaced with 285/35 BFG's were to small for the rims, also they were smaller then stock diameter. What I want to know is for lets say 10,000 miles with the 275/30 tires on there, how many miles were not real or added because of the smaller diameter tire? I thought I remember someone doing a calculation, and I thought it was like 400 miles per 10K that were added due to smaller tire size then stock, but I cant find it in search, I just feel like my miles have been going up faster then they should have....thanks in advance.

Good to know they are willing to replace with the updated design. Mine is almost completely worn through under the clutch pedal, but nada on the gas side (strange). Will push harder for them to replace now that there is precedent...thanks!

that's why whenever I buy a car I buy a set of floor mats from wal mart or somewhere and cover the car floor mats. That is normal but mine usually last 2 years or so. The ones I have in mine still look brand new.
