Lightbulb New Plan for the hood!

I am thinking to cut open slots on the stock hood to match the new NISMO RS concept hood..

I think it would look pretty cool...
Any comments?

i think cutting it yourself... (need to be more ballsy) would be like 100 bucks including parts and mesh...
just you have to be brave enough to cut your hood

i assume you have laser cut instead of sawing the hood.

Will you be fabricating some Water Guards as well? That's unless you don't care about water getting into your engine bay when it rains or when you wash your car.

Actually i thought it was proven that water getting in to engine bay doesnt do anything to performance nor maintainance...
It just causes a bit of dirtiness...
my AEM is tucked away in the wheelwell so filter wetness from some slots in the hood should be irrelevant?
im going to shop around some bodyshops and see the pricing and then see if its cost effective to DIY...
but say if i screw up... there are many ppl who bought Seibon/VIS/??? hoods where i can pick up theirs at a portion of the price...
just my 2 cents on my own posts ahahaha

The only way I can see water really hurting anything (besides the intake) is during the winter months when the water will constantly freeze and thaw. I dont think this will be good for all the hoses and rubber joints. Other than that, I really dont see how the water can do too much damage.

It can be done. I had this discussion with my body shop when they were prep/paint my V3 hood. I still may have them do it but they have now lined up the V3 really well. It's alot of work though. Good luck.

i think even if it costs just as much as an aftermarket "fiberglass/carbon outter layer" hood... uniqueness factor will be more than the sebion/vis ones
and you can say you have nismo V2 RS hood
