New Components Installed...
Thought I'd post on this install...WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$!!!!!
I replaced the stock doors speakers with Infinity Reference Components. I've replaced speakers in cars before, but never ran into the problems I did on this install. I bought 1" speaker spacer since I knew I'd need them, but didn't end up using them. After removing the stock speaker, I cut it out of the plastic trim/spacer it is in, then used that spacer for the new speakers. I had to drill holes in the spacer for the new speaker. The tweeter was a bit easier to install. Anyways, the speakers sound good, considering I don't have an amp yet and am still running stock rears. Overall, I'm impressed with the Reference series. BTW, Circuit City is doing away with their Infinity speakers to make room for the Eclipse speakers. All the Infinity speakers are on clearance now. I got the components for $140...I'm going back to get the rears for $75.

I ran those smae speakers on my first Z and used the stock mounts up front like you did and it was easy and sounded good. Good luck getting to the back ones, it was a pain in the butt. If you thought the ront ones were fun, you have to remove a lot more plastic to get to the rear's. I was very happy with the osund though. Good luck!
