Not to take over the thread here but I am going to M1 on Saturday for them to paint and install a Stillen kit and wing on my 06 Track. The quoted me $1500 as well. I don't care how long they keep the car. Iwas kind of hoping for a better deal as well. Any thoughts? I am not sure who I talked to when I called. I was recommended them by Performance Nissan. Thanks.

Wednesday/Thursday/Friday: Mcallister body repair and body kit install.
Saturday/Sunday: finish Water/Methanol Install
Monday: Get SPC Camber kit and allignment done by Performance Nissan
Tuesday: Have Brainstorm install Racelogic Traction Control and Test Pipes
Wednesday: BrainStorm Tuning
Thursday: hopefully a few test runs at Irwindale
In between I have to go to my stress *** job...and then the week after IDRC West Coast Nationals Qualifying and Eliminations
So I decided to just eat it and enjoy the *** raping

Now one other bad thing of course: Part of the trip there today was to finish the body repair from my wall incident and they discovered yet another broken support brace, $75 part but another $300 in labor...me bracing the wall has now gotten up to over $1800....but I'm still thankfull because it could have been so much worse.

I just had my front bumper painted and installed by M1 and am more than happy with their work. To give a little background, I have quite a bit of body shop experience as I use to run one for 2 years, mainly doing insurance work. When I intially started working for Performance, I immediately was not happy with the work that the body shop that they were using at that time so I decided to scout a different shop. I took a trip over to M1, Dave, the GM, gave me a tour of the shop and showed me some of the cars that were being worked on and was very impressed with how open they were. With my experience, I can tell who does good work and who doesnt. When it comes to any kind of labor work being done to your car, it is hard to put a price tag on a shop that does good and reputable work. Since then we have referred a lot of our clients to M1 and we have gotten nothing but praises about their work. I have to admit that there was a few cases where some of our referred customers were unhappy but M1 did what they had to to make sure they took care of the customer and their car. For the price that they charge, I believe the work is exceptional. That is why we always make sure to tell our customers to let M1 know they were refered by Performance Nissan, they will take the extra care to make sure things are done right for a more than fair price and that you are happy with your car.
As for OEM paint? Every car manufactuer uses a different refinishing brand, Mr. Tomcat, Id advise to ask your shop what brand they are using as far as paint, clearcoat, additives, thinner, etc. Any shop can say, "yea, we use OEM paint" but end up using some cheap refinishing product. I dont even think there is such a thing called "OEM paint". FYI, the Nismo bodykit you bought from us comes with an install guide and every bit of hardware for the installation, a good body shop would have tooken the time to read the installation guide to prep for the install. I hope they drilled some holes in your front bumper cause from what I understand, the Nismo lip requires you to drill holes into the OEM bumper to be installed properly.

only drawback for me and m1 is that they are so far away from me.
I just found out that my cars damage is much worse than we thought, when they fixed the rear they discovered quite a bit of destruction, my whole ride back is crumbled. They took pictures and sent them to me. So I won't have the car back till monday which means I am screwed my whole schedule is screwed up. I can only hope that I get the car in the morning so that I can still get the alignment done and then have to pull an all nigther to finish installing the m/w kit before handing the car to Brainstorm on tuesday....

Damn sorry to hear that man. Hope everything works out.
keep in mind that quotes vary widely based on materials.
We painted the bumper on my car last fall...also redid the hood, and rear wing and sideskirts to fix some minor road debris (rock chips and a slight crack in the rear spoiler that developed
Supplies alone were $725.....and that's at my cost. Easily would have been a $2000 job if I had a body shop do it. The flipside is we used all top notch stuff - all PPG chemicals. It's the same with an oil change...a Mobil 1 change costs a LOT more than changing the oil with Wolfs Head (KMart)
Don't fall for the cheapest quote - it's typically cheap for a reason. Instead, go with the shop you feel most comfortable will do the best job.
