Does the center consol gets hot under the summer sun? Me in California, so heat from the sun can be a problem.

So far I haven't burnt my arm on it yet, and I live in Florida. The only thing I have noticed is the shine from it is sometimes blinding.

Vlad: I would like to get a real brushed aluminum kit when they come out

I have no clue who's going to produce anything real... but I hope they will. And since I'm not in a hurry, I'm going to wait as long as necessary. Either for carbonfiber, or brushed aluminum. It's probably going to be cf, since it's easier to produce, and it's not reflect sun in your eyes.

I photoshopped aluminum dash a while ago:

Also, new Infiniti FX45 comes with real aluminum dash right away

Probably there is some hope nissan will produce kit? Nah...

the kit looks nice mytalon!
so the dealer put it in for you for free?
I'm not sure if my dealer would do that but if it's free I don't see why not, better looking than the tubberware trim

Mytalon,
Like the look overall especially the free part. The "Z" is overdone IMO, but still kinda cool. Glad to see you guys made up. I get sick of reading posts where guys seem compelled to not only share their opinion, but do so in a fashion that is outright rude. Not directed at you Vlad...I appreciate those that are candid about their thoughts but don't take kindly to anyone's comments made without regard for their impact. Honestly I'd love to meet some of the guys on this board in person and see if they are so forward with their opinions face to face. For those that would be...well, "I pity the fool"!

Of course, in person people wouldn't speak out half of what they saying here.

But then, nobody would ask that many questions and shared so many things in first place. So it's a stick with two ends (is that the right saying?).

so what you are saying is that there is a benefit to those here looking for opinions in that those that are asked are going to be brutally honest? Don't they reap the same benefit from those that share their opinions in a dignified manner? Not sure I understand your explaination of the upside to hearing all the negative feedback rather than honest constructive criticism? Maybe I'm showing my soft side, but I typically prefer the soft toungue to the sharp one and have found through experience of my own that things usually turn out better with the first of the two. An example would be this thread where countless people (actually I could look up how many) have wasted their time reading senseless banter over foolishness rather than the topic posted. But I digress and am contributing to the same...so I leave you now. Peace.

What I'm saying is that it's much safer to stay off this board. You want get hurt, but then you'll miss some good stuff too.

In short, I'm not "worried" about my "feelings" or anyone elses for that matter. I just think it is a sad indication of some people's disregard for common courtesy. I do believe however that life is somewhat fair on the whole and you reap what you sew. Enough said...I won't bore others with my position. May you find humility when your actions are returned ten fold.

Apologies to mytalon for taking your thread off topic.

Hey Liberal Vlad,

I haven't had a chance to sit in a FX yet so is the alum dash real metal unlike the G35 which is just a titanium paint finish?

Conservative NoSuch

Yes, all articles I've read mentioned that it's a REAL aluminum. even cover of the storage box.

Very cool - wish they would have done that with the G. Maybe on the Z it would be better to have Magnesium to match the steering wheel.

Why not take out the plastic pieces, sand it down and then buy a can of aluminum and clearcoat paint and diy? A lot of ppl have a already done it.

Since it's free, I'd take it. But I prolly rip out some of it, too much imo.

having used a similar kit for quite awhile, i can tell you from firsthand experience that the unfinished/noncoated version looks great at first but over time will come to look cheap and faded; i'm in the process of installing a coated version right now. time will tell about that, too. i believe the suite e grafx mod is the best out there, but at this point, i'm not willing to pay what they're asking for their kit. maybe when this one wears out...
