if you change out your pedals; take the new ones and soak them in real hot water to loosen up the rubber. start from the top down. you will need the rubber real soft to pull up under and over the stock plate. (Not easy) The clutch is easier than the brake...Do the clutch first...so as having a small victory. plus you'll work harder to get the brake done.

I have a base Z. Just recently I bought the complete set of pedals with the necessary clip and bushing for the gas pedal from an Infiniti dealer in Austin Texas that sells parts on the internet, total cost $75.00. The pedals came in Nissan packaging though they are sold for the G35, they are the same. I took them to Mossy Nissan in San Diego and paid $18.50 to have them install the clutch, brake and gas pedals in about 10 minutes. The dead pedal I installed myself.

Steve,

Do you have their phone number so I can order me a set. I love saving money.

Do you have the manual or auto?

You don't need the entire assembly that Courtesy sells. You only need the pedal covers. It replaces the stock rubber, and uses OEM parts. Yes, these are the G35 pedals. They are rubber with an aluminum "plate" on them. The black circles are raised rubber for "traction" They came with excelent instructions, but the idea of soaking them in hot water would have helped. I think I paid $89 for the set, but I don't remember.

I bought my pedals from Grubbs Infiniti over the net, I don't have their phone #, but you can find them on the net. It is the same kit as offered at Strictly Z, but was slightly cheaper at the time I bought it. There is no reason to pay for the expensive complete gas pedal assembly at Courtesy, since only a cheap plastic clip and bushing is required in addition to the pedal itself. Also, the dead pedal is very easy to install, but the other ones are not. They do make a big difference. I also just added Katzkin leather and my interior now looks like a touring model.

I've been looking into getting a pedal set myself. I can't see any reason not to go with the G35 kit on strictly Z.
Do you really need the whole gas pedal assembly as sold on courtesy parts for 120 something dollars? I'm going to give the G35 set a try for 70 bucks...you really can't wrong for that price. Any more suggestions or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

For anyone that missed it, JUN did a great job posting a DIY (Do It Yourself) thread on installing StricklyZ (G35) pedals. Really makes it look easy!

Default One question

That was an awesome write up. I've got one question. The only part that I'm not really following is the 3rd to last picture. I don't understand how that plastic clip he cut off is going to stay onto the aluminum clip to keep the pedal upright?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thansk

Ok, i did my best at trying to explain it to you with pictures.

clip (A) is going to clip to the pedal on part (B), once you bring the pedal back, the blue part mark on the accelerator will be in between the blue mark of the pedal, that is how the clip is going to hold the pedal to the accelerator.

Hope that helps.

Save another 5%!

(From www.freshalloy.com website)

"BE SURE TO USE THIS MONTHS DISCOUNT PROMOTIONAL CODE BELOW TO GET YOUR ADDITIONAL 5% FA DISCOUNT.

The promotional discount code through the end of August is SEPTFA

From within the shopping cart look for "Have Promotional Code" in the lower right and enter the discount code."

NOTE: I know it says August but the code is SEPTFA and is probably worth a shot.
