Default For those who switched to 06 Bi-xenons

Guys, im thinking about doing the same

Here in Aus we never got xenons until the 06 model, so ive been using a xenon kit in the halogen headlights - now using a Raybrig 6000K HID kit. The Raybrig xenons are awesome, alot more output than the Philips Ultinon 6000K i had before, but the problem is the headlight projector/reflector - it just doesnt put down enough light on the road, and the beam pattern is so wide, its difusing the amount of light in front of the car to fill such a wide beam

so im thinking about switching to the 06 bi-xenons. Ive read a few people comment the color is more yellow than white, but i can always just fit some Raybrig 5000K globes for a pure white output

for those that have switched over, is it really worth it? Did you see a big difference in output? Is the beam pattern fuller/wider/narrower etc?

any feedback would be welcomed

i havent fitted the kit yet dude, its still in my garage

im waiting on the rear under spoiler pieces from JapanParts (they had them in stock). I originally was going to fit just the bumper and skirts, but decided on the rears to flow better

and if i go the headlights, ill get everything installed in the one hit

got some ganador mirrors coming too - ill prob end up painting them since theyre not real CF - or maybe just the mirror and leave the base CF pattern

here's some pics of the car atm

btw do you have any pics of the beam output/pattern with the PIAA xenons? Did you lose much output switching from oem 4300K to 6600K?

Very nice!! Your Z will look awesome when it's finished!

Unfortunately I don't have pictures that show the differences, but I can tell you the bi-xenon 06-lights are a vast improvement to the 05s. Functional-wise the output is well channeled and defined. Cosmetically the projectors may seem a bit "oversized", but in time you won’t notice it anymore. The only thing I miss from the 05s is that the assembly is no longer lit (as the 06 are not reflectors), from a distance it gave the car a great presence. Oh well.

Now for the 6600K PIAA's the output difference is noticeable during rain, especially in dark roads. Also, whenever something or someone "glares you", it will take a second or two for your iris to reopen to absorb the 6600K tone. Nevertheless, the PIAAs indeed “seem” more powerful than the stocks, since you notice their color on buildings, signs, and other cars. Overall I love them and woldn't trade them back.

Good luck with your projects, and please keep us posted!

PS. Who makes your engine CF cover?

thanks for the info mate

i was searching the forum and found some of mc350z's pics showing the beam pattern and the cut off is ALOT more defined than the 03-05 headlights

re the engine cover, i bought it off ebay from a US vendor, maxzone if i remember correctly, so not sure the real manufacturer. Its been under the hood for nearly 9 months and hasnt yellow'd or cracked - impressed with the quality. The Nissan badge and lettering are my own doings
