Default Semi-review of $329 complete kit from racerwheel

I had a little fender bender and needed to replace my front bumper. I was going to go with the AeroSync N Style from Gruppe-S for $399 shipped, but they were out of stock and I needed something ASAP. I saw a whole kit from racerwheel for $329 shipped, so I took a chance. The rear and sides were INGS replicas, and the front was sort of a hybrid that I have never seen before. I did like the subtle look of the front in the pics.

I got the kit in about 4 days, pretty fast shipping and it was well packaged. I have no experience with aftermarket body kits, so keep that in mind during this review. I will also post some pics up and you can make your own conclusions. I didn't test fit any of the parts. I do have a feeling that it wasn't going to be good and there would need to be a lot of prep work done. There were a lot of rough spots to smooth out, too.

I decided to just sell it for a couple of reasons. All I really needed was the front and I didn't want to pay 2k to prep/paint/fit a complete kit. Also, the front end made me nervous. It felt very flimsy/brittle and I was worried about how it would hold up. The mesh used in the grill was thin and they overlapped it in the middle. The rear and sides felt more solid, but since I ended up just using an OEM front and I didn't bother with them. Here are the pics of the kit, kind of big but I wanted to show detail:

That grill looks like gutter protectors from Home Depot.

Looks like a $300 Body Kit to me..

A Good Body shop should be able to smooth it out with a little effort.

I think the front and sides looks good, needs "thicker" mesh though and in black. I think it will look very nice on the car.

Really budget look with that overlapping mesh though...

It is fiberglass. I also think the kit will look good when done, but I didn't want to spend the cash that is necessary to make that happen. If you have a body shop connection or can do some of the prep work yourself then it might be worth it. The front end really made me nervous though. It felt like it could break if you picked it up wrong.

I would definitely be in that front and rear bumper reinforcing with more fiberglass. Heavy biaxial fiberglass cloth or even this stuff called Coremat would help tremendously.

Hey what's the outcome of this kit. I was thinking about getting something from them b/c they are the only people who have the VIS Tracer back that I can find.

I don't know. I sold the kit and never heard back from the guy.

You might take a chance if you are looking for a rear piece. It would probably take a good amount of prep work though to make it fit right. I would stay away from any of their front ends, it felt like it would break if I picked it up wrong.

True. There is no support in the front. I don't know why they took out the 2 bar in front. Poor decision.
