Default insurance?

My car was recently beat down with some hail and I made a claim. The insurance company said they will only make the check out to me and the body shop or me and NMAC (who I financed the car through). The question is my friend does body work out of his garage and I would like to keep the excess cash for the deductible and parts. Is there a way I can get this check cashed?

How is it fraud if the car is getting fixed? Also can I sign the check over to the finance company to go to the cars loan?

Your insurance company is more than likely going to pay the shop or friend directly. If he wants to give you the overpaid amount then thats his problem but then he is being fraudulent about his earnings. Either way you cant make out legally.

see if your insurance company will let you email them some pics of the vehicle after the repairs are done.
