I am on the fence for looks, but I do know that those doors are easier to get out of. You park in a space with cars around and it is tough to get in and out, so I say from a functionality standpoint they make sense.
There are some kits that work and some that don't from my understanding, so search around first and get one that you know is going to work.

If I didnt have plans on showing my car I would have never added them. pain in the a$$ for day to day driving.

Plus you cant pump gas without getting stupid question. Like what kind of car is that? Cant they see the nissan emblem?

 

IMO if you are going to get lambo doors, get the bolt ons instead of the weld ons because then if your mind changes or you wish to sell then at least you can return it back to stock without too much hassle.

 

They are a pain in the butt a lot of time, but attract a lot of attention.
As for the chipping etc. I have not had a problem, but my doors have a stop tab preventing any real damage to the interior panels and a alignment pin to make sure when they close they close (mostly) straight.

Personally I would say if you are not building a show car avoid them. Take that $3k and build up motor or suspension.

BUT I love the way they look at a show or at meets.

For a show car they're fine. But daily driver? No.

Although...after moving into a new house with a tiny garage I'm thinking they're a lot more practical than originally thought.

 

LSD Doors engineered out all the previously mentioned issues accept the opinions one, you either love them or hate them. I think they are incredible and that's what I usually get told when people see ours. And if you don't want to lift the door vertically you don't have to, it may be opened like normal then lifted vertically if you want.
