I got the Series 2 Hood and it had major gaps in it. I really do not think I am going to get much help from Stillen since it is painted. The body shop did an excellent job but it really does not fit properly. I will post pictures one I get them shrunk to fit.

My question is, has anyone else had this Problem? If so, how did you get it fixed?

I have a gap between the hood and front bumper. I also have a gap between the hood and side fender. The gap is so bad I can see the hinges from the hood. Not to worried about from here. I got loads of time write to get a solution to my problem. I just need a little assistance.

have any pics of that from a little distance? I can see the gaps real close but step away from your car and snap a few pics. you may just need to adjust your hood a little splitting the gap in half so that it would have a small gap on each side to make it even.

 

That is what I am thinking, guess the body did not know what to do. That would call for drilling more holes in the hood wont it. It is one of those things that might have to wait until I get home.

 

you can dremel the holes in your hood hinge. Doing this will allow you to slide the hood alittle more forward or to each side.

 

Stillen told me to adjust the hood as well. The problem I am having is how can you move it forward with the headlights blocking any movement forward.

 

I think this is the best my wife can do. Car looks good from this angle.

 

It looks much better, but I see what your talking about with hitting the headlights. It looks like the hood wasn't fitted correct from the manufacture. It looks like the hood is too short. Can you take a picture of the top part of the hood. Does the top of the hood stick past the top of the fenders. I hope that made sense

Funny thing is Stillen says every hood is prefitted for perfect fit before it gets sent out. I have the carbon SC hood with same gap, I've seen worse fitting hoods so I've learned to live with it.

You can dry dremeling it out to straighten it laterally, as stated before.

If you'd like to cut down on the front gap, make sure you have the rubber gasket on the hood, and then adjust the front hood latch. There are three screws you can loosen to drop it as far as it will go. Another trick I used was to get a radiator plate shroud and install it *under* the edge of the front bumper. This will move the front edge of the bumper up a little and cut down on the gap.

If the front gap is uneven slightly, there should be two rubber stoppers in the hood on the underside. You can turn these to adjust height of each side.

In the end, your hood fitment doesnt look very bad at all. I've seen MUCH worse (my own Veilside hood). I've had a lot of experience tweaking fitment from struggling to get mine to fit right.

 

Just curious...what kind of power are you putting down with the Stillen SC??
