car is in the shop right now, getting molded... bottom portion will be painted flat black. this is costing me a pretty penny as the shop really has to do ALOT of work to make this work and mold it....

You innovator you! jk.... you should consider changing that to a more subtle black. I'm sure it will look great anyways

Nice. Are you getting it molded on? I'm paying a pretty penny to get the custom work done and it molded.

^ not sure how much this would cost you, but my is involving some serious prep work and customization. Although this is an expensive project on my end, I am still getting a good deal because the bodyshop is a sponsor of my car site. This is all relative because the average person would pay between $900-1200 to get it painted/molded/etc. The labor is just really intensive. It's quite possible that my replica needs more prep then the original (even though the replica is polyurethane). My body guy is a total perfectionist though..... He's taking pics of the ENTIRE process, so I will hopefully have them up by next week.

I wish GQ-350z would see this thread since he's the one person that did it.....

Just make sure it won't crack where you mold it. That would be my only concern.

Painting that area black would look great IMO, especially with a molded over bumper! I was concidering the same for my Trial rear but decided to wait and see.

Looking forward for some completed pics

Of course not, no need to mold it... but it certainly does look better imho. I just can't stand extra lines in a car...
