Default Corbeau FX-1 seat will not fit!!!!!!!HELP!!!!

I just got a FX-1 pro with the mount from Corbeau.

After some drilling on the mount I finally got the seat mounted but it is too high! My head hits the roof and there is NO way I get a helmet on.

If you have one, how did you mount yours?

Please help me out I am leaving for a track event in 2 days and need to get this thing in!!!!

Well, I gave up. Without the sliders it's the right height, but my feet are to far from the pedals.

Stock seat is back in and now I have a airbag light that wont go away. I've never been so agrivated with my car before. Thanks Corbeau!

I just put one in today. The first thing that came to mind was how much higher I was sitting. But I'm only 5'10" and I tried to get a feel for how a helmet would fit. I'll check it out later on today.

I think this was a matter of the OP being a tall guy. I am 5' 10", running Corbeau forza's on Corbeau brackets and there is about 2 inches of clearance between the top of my helmet and the headliner.

So yes, if you're 6 foot or taller and track your car (wearing a helmet), you will need some different mounting solution.

Or, get an inch shaved off the top of your head.

Hey man, I'm thinking of getting the Forza II's, since my *** is big (actually it's my waist, torso), as long as i can detremine that they are not too wide to hit the door.

How is your Forza height compaired to the stock seats? Higher, ,lower or about the same? How much clearance do you have to the door panel, with the Corbeau brackets?

I have read some reviews installed in diff. cars and they all seem to say that the Forza's will sit you lower than stock seats, which would be nice or even the same as stock would be fine too. I'm 6 foot.

The Forza II's are the wide version, yes? If so I think you may have an issue with the widest part of the bolster hitting the door. My Forzas clear the door panel by only about 1/4"

As far as height, I would say that the forzas on corbeau brackets sit slightly lower then the stock seating. But probably not by much. Its been a couple years since I installed mine, so I am just going by memory of what the stock seats were like.

ha... I see this was bumped. This was the thread that made me DOUBLE CHECK the specs for my brides, so I knew exactly what I was getting and made sure they fit (including the rails). Let this be a lesson to all.

So, it looks like you have a harness bar & a front roll cage? Did you have to cutout any of the body panels to accomodate the cage? Is the cage a bolt-on type? Any more interior pics?

Yea the Forza II's are wider, so looks like there's no way they would fit if you only have 1/4" of room to spare. They are about 2"' wider, than yours.
