Ask a friend to drive behind you at night and go into an area with a lot of traffic lights... He'll get pissed off quickly because of the extreme brightness these leds have

I just installed mine last week and it was easy too! Did you wrap the smaller plug with electrical tape or something? or did you leave it open ended?

I guess I should start subscribing to my own threads ... I just tucked the smaller plug into an area where it wouldn't obstruct the back housing of the brake light. As long as you don't have a current going across the smaller plug you can probably do without putting electrical tape on it. It's not a bad idea though.

As for the "be the first kid to own this brake light on your 350Z" .... please for the love of God .... even a person living in a "van down by the river" wouldn't do that to their Z. Shell out the extra 200 bones at get the LEDs.

Looks and an added bonus ... safety. These LEDs are a lot brighter then the 03-05 taillights.

I just completed this instal. The only problems I ran into were: I didn't account for the little plastic plegs inserted into the rubber grommets on the body. Once you know what direction these pegs are on the back of each light removal and reinsertion is much easier. I scuffed my paint a little bit taking out my first light (inexperience), I fixed this by taping around the inside edge of the body around the light and it worked like a charm. And, finally my passenger side light on my 2003 plugged in just fine, but my drivers side light needed some modification to the grooves on the plug as the slot anf groove pattern changed after 2003. If anyone wants pics let me know

haha i totally agree with you, but it's nice knowing company takes the extra time to do things right. too many ppl these days take the cheap shortcuts and it results in nothing but bad news.
When i first saw the box i was afraid i got drunk and ordered something like a bumper, haaha

I love my '06 tails. I was driving behind my car the other day and loved how bright they light up.

It is nice to see companies taking the extra time so your product doesnt get damaged. And i know first hand how easy it is to deal with UPS after they damage your product. I lost $100+ due to UPS damaging my products and refusing to do anything about it. Won't be using them anymore.

But anyway, the lights do look very nice. Glad to hear they weren't damaged.

I just ordered mine from Performance. I just have two questions.

1. When pulling on the old brake housing skinny ends, Do you pull them up towards the sky or out towards the side?

2. Where do you tuck away the smaller plug?

Thanks

Actually in between, go with the line of the car. So basically half up, half out. Just remember to start with the skinny side first.

Just tuck the extra plug in the opposite direction of the main plug. So basically it will be facing away from the main outlets. The only reason you tuck the unwanted plug is so it won't get in the way when put the LEDs taillights back in place.
