Talking Sylvania Silverstar vs. PIAA

hey guys

i have a 03' non HID

i heard that the sylvania silverstar is brighter than the PIAA halogen bulbs

is this true?

i aint got the cash to get a HID kit so i just wanted to change some bulbs

any info will be appreciated

The halogen bulbs will not give you the look of HID. These tinted bulbs don't provide better visability, and can actually decrease lumens. I say save your money and check ebay for ballasts and bulbs and retrofit them into your headlights. The beam pattern ain't perfect but you will get more useable light.

it's part of a hid system... a component, if you will.

i have the OE hid in my 03, and have the silverstars in my highbeams. definately nothing like the hid, but i like it because it is brighter then the regular halogen bulbs.
