Haknslash is probably refering to me, MI 35th. I have a CS and I would do it asap, but Z is my daily driver and can't afford the down time. I also want to put a clear reflector in there. I can probably afford a 2 day down time considering my car's getting a new sound system.

Hak! Can you get those clear reflectors? Also, how long does it take you to make these bad boys.

Thanks in advance

I can't get the clear corners aside from anywhere else you guys could but as for how long it takes me, 2-4 days (actually it's nights heh) of work since I have a normal 7am-5pm job as well.

As for the Q45 retro, I could do it but honestly there are much better projectors out there. Q45s are typically expensive but not because of their performance but rather because of their unique look. I'm not a big fan of them but if someone wanted them in, I would need a local Z guy around me to use their car to ensure the proper horizontal aiming. . Also if going with the q45 your going to lose your high beam since they are single xenon.

haknslash,
how much do you think it would cost me for the retro fit. parts and labor? as for the losing the high beams, it doesnot matter because I rearly so them anyway. and exactly where are you located in southeast? And in your opinion what is a better projector, I want the Q45 because of its looks. And I am pretty sure the projector is bright as well??

what type of paint are you using, and are you having any hazing problems from degassing of the paint once the headlight is reassembled? I going to tackle this on my 06 g35 projectors, but I want to make sure that I use the right type of paint

For anyone curious, the clear strip can be bought at ricks2k.com.

The projector is bright but there is better ones out there for the price is all I meant. My current set-up on my car is Acura TL bi-xenons with a swapped lens. The stock TL lens is fresnel (has concentric rings) and I swapped it out with a ZKW lens (crystal clear) found in the BWM 330ix. Simply amazing light output. I shoot a beam nearly 160 degrees in width and blanket pretty much any stock HID system out there in terms of intensity. It's pretty insane

But as for price or doing them for you, the only real issue I have is that I have no 350Z around here to aim them on unless StudyBuddy or the other local Z guys around here care to let me aim them off their car. Typically my labor rate for the neon guys was $300 + shipping.

Do I even want to know how you got ahold of the ZKW lens, or how much it was?!

haha it was a pain to try and get a hold of them and took over 2 months!! The first one I got I had to pay $120 for JUST the lens. Then had to wait a few more weeks until I saw someone else selling an entire ZKW projector, ballast and Osram bulb. I picked up that deal for only $140!!! so I lucked out the second time since I basically got the ballast and bulb for free . Now-a-days since I did the mod and posted the pics you can't get a pair of ZKW lenses without spending over $270 minimum!!! Crazy!

Persistance pays off though

i'm curious...can the reflective portion that's right underneath the projector lamp be painted? It seems like you would only need the parabolic portion behind it since that would reflect light forwards, while the bottom reflective piece would just relect upward. Any thoughts?

I believe the part you're talking about is the high beam's reflector. We thought about painting it, but I wanted all the use out of my headlights. You could really paint all of it if that's what you wanted, just not sure how good your output would be.
