This should help. It tells you how to take off the wheel and then you can replace it with your own.

Just be careful. The fine is HUGE for disabling a safety device.

There isn't any law stating that you can't drive a car without an airbag tho is there, i mean, a car that originally came with one?
to actually disable it yes, but they have to catch you in the act.
Just say if you ever are in a situation, that u were in a minor wreck, the airbag went off, and swapping wheels was more economical hehe.
I've had officers look at my car up and down, and they never mentioned it. A few years ago, i looked up a lot of the vehicle code laws for CA, and didn't come accross anything that was illegal about it, but that was then, i'm not so sure about now....

yes there is. you cannot alter or disable a OEM saftey device.

there are Nismo wheels with airbags in them. I wanted to replace mine since the finish is pealing off of the silver part.

in my 99 eclipse i had a red n black wheel got pulled over numerours time to pop hood and put liscense plate out of winshield and put on front bumper always had cops lookin in my car never one said anything about the steering wheel and not having an airbag i doubt a cop will ever site you for that unless you **** him/her off and there looking for anything to give you a ticket on, and even then you can just say oh it was on the car when i got it, worst case scenaro they give you a fix it ticket which is $10 to fix it or pay $150 and not fix it i doubt tho that anyone has ever gotten a tiket for changing out there wheel and not having an airbag
