Default Anyone made a dual glove box?

I was wondering if anyone has made a dual glove box? It seems that the area behind the driver's seat is wasted unless you have stereo equipment in there. Pictures would be great if you have them.

Thanks

I asked the Parts Manager at my dealership about replacing the pop off panel behind the driver with the glove box door. We looked through the parts maunal and there is no part for the door on the right. He says it looks like the door comes with the interior panel it's fitted to. I was hoping to order the part and fit it to the space on the left.

There is a part for the interior of the glove box that might maje it easier to put items into the space. But you'd still need a screwdriver to open it.

Default WHAT IF...

The FairLady Z, which is right hand drive, must have the glove box on the opposite side.

So you order all the parts from Japan and now our right side would match our left side with the Glove Box.

What do you think?

I also thought about getting a left hand door from Japan but the door, when you look at the exploded parts diagram, is not a separate part from what we could tell. No number or name. It's part of the whole panel that goes across the back of the car.

Has anyone figured out how to mount a custom made door?

The problem is that the stock door comes with a spring tensioner which cannot be duplicated with just a door on the other side.

I wonder if it would be possible to get a JDM rear panel, cut it in half, and match it with a USM panel.

Mighty complicated though.

Yea.. I was thinking of gettng the JDM version of the pannel and taking it apart and rig the door to work at the best that can be accomplished.. might not be perfect behind the door.. like fine form the outside and offers anoter lockable storage area

How much storage is back there? Any pics?

If you dont need it to be lockable. Would it not be possible to simply cut out the stock panel, and then hinge it at the bottom? Then maybe place a magnetic latch at the top for closure?

Im hoping to use this space for my Laptop Auto PC

never mind, found pics https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....storage+behind
