Veilside V1 Front Lip Q's and Varis Front Lip
Varis Arising 1: I can't seem to figure out if it is just a lip and the diffuser is seperate, or if they are both included together...for the 600 or whatever it cost.
Veilside V1: How do you get this freaking thing to fit...i can't get the part that goes up into the mouth area to lay down...do you have to get a heat gun and go to work like that. Any suggestions on getting it to fit a little better?
Cheers

I too had the same problem with the V1 lip. What material is yours? Mine is urethane and it is still a problem fit, but I hear the CF/FG ones are even worse.
When we called veilside, they pretty much said it was the installers incompetance, but there was no friggin way this thing was going on. Then my vendor ordered another one and compared the sizes. Mine was a full inch shorter! Dont ask me how, you would figure the mold would be the same for all.
Anyways I took the longer one and its still a poor fit.
If your vendor is local, try getting them to order you up another one.

I got it from a member, it is urethane also. I guess it fits ok, just not factor like, nobody has said anything about the fit to me yet, i am really ****. I am probably just going to pony up for a Varis lip or the Top Secret lip...can't decide. My ideal setup would be the topsecret front and rear diffuser, or the varis lip and sides and top secret diffuser. Anywho, i would probably buy new wheels or some nitrous before i threw that kind of money down on aero parts.
I don't know, i have ADHD real bad...can't even concentrate on one thought for more than a few seconds.

I have a urethane v1 lip and fitment was very tight, but I got it to fit perfectly. I started in the middle, then brought the sides up into place and pulled the tape backing once it was fitted (this is tricky to do). You have to use some force to get the ends up into place; as it's REALLY tight. I used small screws in the holes at the edges of the fender well, too. I had a couple of small gaps below the reflectors where the tape just couldn't hold it, but a little clear RTV and my toolbox holding it in place overnight cured that problem. Install might be easier if you let the lip set out in the sun a while and do the install there as well to keep it as pliable as possible. That might be tough this time of year, though...

I wen't at it with the heat gun last night, it seemed to lay down a little better. I didn't go too crazy but i think with a little more time i can "get it's mind correct" and make it fit how it should.

For my own curiosity... how much did your varis lip and sides cost... did you purchase the undertray separately or did it come with the lip?

on the mas picts.
I believe the front lip and the under tray are "sold seperately" I imagine he paid a pretty penny, i can't find these anywhere for less than around 700 or 800 a piece. They are sick for sure...i wish i could get a set on my car.
Where is the "pics or ban" smiley?

I emailed veilside on my second authentic V1 lip purchase. These things fit like crap for the price they are asking.
I quote from the email they sent me when sent them pictures of I how their product fits like crap for a $600canadian imported lip.
"The 1/4 inch
gap between the lip to the center opening of the bumper, as shown by
your pictures are normal."
wow - a 1/4 gap for an authentic lip is "normal"
AND
"If there are minor adjustments needed for tighter
fit or stretching, a professional body shop installer can make
adjustments"
AND my personal favorite
" Most customers of urethane or
fiberglass products believe the item is to be put on without any work
being performed."
There have been some recent arguements against replica products since replica's take extra work to fit and has disregard for the original manufacturer's R&D. I paid more for the real deal to avoid extra work and the authentic manufacturer is now telling me their product takes extra work. I also emailed them twice with no repsonse until I complained to my vendor that then acted on my behalf.
My analysis and recommendation ----> buy a replica. Why buy authentic when they admit they take extra work to fit. In other words, admitting they fit like crap. And they charge rediculous amounts for the real deal. And to complete my disapointment, they wouldn't even respond to my emails twice until my vendor contacted them.
