Default Car Cover Help

Just recently got a car cover from a member here, very nice! But question is it's not waterproof, but water resistance. In the morning when I remove the cover during a foggy morning, the cover & car is very damp, is this designed to do this? so it can dry when it starts getting warmer temp? Im concerned that the dampness of car will eventually degrade the finish over time. Thanks for your help. It is a calif. car cover, and it says nextec.

Depending on the temperature and humidity, anything is possible. Recommend that you spray the cover with ScotchGuard.

All covers are water resistant, not water proof and are designed to breath. What you are experiencing is normal and it won't hurt your finish. Some covers are more water resistant than others. The recommendation above to spray it with scotchguard is good and it may make your fabric a bit more water resistant than it is.

I have a Nissan cover and it does this same thing.

I may get a second, more weather resistant cover for overnight parking so I can take it off in the mornings and hang it in my garage to dry. Then use my Nissan cover at the office in the parking garage where dust is a factor but moisture is not.

Or sell my 62 sprite and put the Z in the garage

Hyper...why not use the California Duster when you park in the garage?

I don't think you understand, my parking garage is a 5 level above ground arrangement where I park on the forth floor. This level is parallel with the freeway where they have been retrofitting carpool lanes for the past three years. It is not light dust, it is a coating of concrete and sticky traffic dust.
It only really comes off when I wash it.

Hopefully they will be done with the demolition part of the retrofit in the next 12 to 18 months.
