I hate them on most cars and especially on the Z. Please save these for the truck guys.

+1000, the only thing they look good on is mini's! I had a Nissan Hardbody with the yoda conversion with the billet and phantom billet grille. My buddy has a G35 and he was looking at the billet grille, I told him that he couldnt buy that **** using my computer. Later he said he was going with the c/f one, and thats what friends are for, lol.

 

the only thing that should take the place of the stock grille is a massive FMIC! at least on a z!

 

^^^ What if you dont want huge highway rocks and pebbles to ruin your FMIC? What then? Just may be a reason people put a grille on their FI car like myself..

 

good call but that's arisk you gotta take! what's to stop a person from a rock hitting their condenser? a new condenser plus evac and recharge is pretty much the same price as a new intercooler!

no i was just saying it was about the same as a stock z with stock grille getting their condenser fu**ed up not to mention a radiator by a rock with enough momentum to put about the same dent in your wallet!

don't misunderstand im not hating on those with a billet grille! im just saying if you have a massive fmic then show it for the world to see! going for the sleeper look is cool but all it takes is one race and everyone knows what you got! my boy has a 1000+ rwhp '03 cobra and he raced one busa (stock) and absolutley raped it and after that no car around atl was willing to race it because they too feared they would get raped! (if you saw this car besides the wider tires, and you didn't pop his hood and look then you would say "no big deal" big no no!)

 

^^ I feel you, and I get what your saying about the intimidation factor of the intercooler staring at you, but.. I have thought on it for months.. Still cant find it in me to expose it and risk damaging it just for show.. I much rather the sleeper look anyways because I surprise with massive rapes all the time.. I then slow down and shake my head at the loser who dares to race any 350z....
