Default has anyone done this?

the interior of my z is stock. and when i drive it at night the whole interior is really dark. i was in my buddies bmw and the bimmers have that light that come down from the rear view mirror. has anyone tried that on their z?

also, has anyone tried to make the metal ring around the shiftboot light up. i've got an 03 so 06/07 guys won't have that ring. be really interested to do the mod if someone came up with a 'how to'

I think you misinterpreted my comment, I meant to say I don't really care that that the interior is dark, I reather prefer it that way so you can actually see the road better. I din't mean for it to sound like I wash bashing.

i think the rule on having lighting in ur interior is. as long as its below or level to the dash you can have it on while driving..

is pretty easy to make. All you need are some LEDs. But I forget half the time they are there in my Bimmer. Think they are only noticeble when they reflect on your hand or something light colored to see it.

yea ill set up sum pics asap when i get my car back. its really easy i bought them at autozone lol. heres an example.

just poke little holes in2 the headliner, and run the wires thru the top, down the pillar, and 2 ur battery source. the 3 bulbs stay in place really nice. add sum glue if ur not sure, but it lights up really nicely. u can do wutever color u want. i hav mine wired 2 a switch tho, so if i ever want them off, just hit it. no glare, and it was a great mod. only paid $8 for the led's and $15 4 the switch. only took about 20 inutes 2 do, but about an hour 2 find a place 2 route the wires. turns out the passenger side has a route.

i just install these two things..JDM Foot Well Lamp Kit,..and JDM Interior Illumination Kit.

JDM Interior Illumination Kit

No more stumbling in the dark. This JDM kit includes two lamps which illuminate the under dash area in the footwell area of the interior when the door is open.

JDM Foot Well Lamp Kit, 350Z

These genuine Nissan JDM kits are sold with the Fairlady Z and compliment the under dash lighting of the Interior Illumination Kit (sold seperately). This kit mounts two small lamps under each bucket seat. Each light then illuminates the lower part of the transmission tunnel cover (center console) when parking light is on.

here's the pics, sorry for poor quility.

I dont' see the point of lighting up your feet, unless you are Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

ok its pretty simple. poke a tiny hole where each individual led goes. route the wires through the headliner to the switch, then to the battery.

20 mintues to do
$8 4 led's and $15 4 the switch

only way that i found 2 route wiring is through th passenger side where all the ecu wiring goes. didnt feel like drilling through firewall.

looks nice.

any simpler?
