hey, im new so i guess its time to make my first post. so i have 2004 touring silverstone. looking around here i see that some of the silvestones look darker than mine and i am kinda pissed cause i like the darker ones. I got my car at night and it looked fine there was an 03 next to it and it looked exactly the same at the dealer so i dont know maybe its just me. or photoshop or the shade in the pictures (of the cars i see on here) but i just want to make sure that they didnt change in later years. heres mine so u see what im talking about. thanks

there are 4 shades of silverstone actually. They are nearly impossible to tell apart on their own; the differences only are noticed when you put 2 different shades next to each other
When buying a new or preowned, the color will just say WV2, but there are variances within that specific shade
NOT an easy color to match should you need paint work down the road

Unfortunately everybody is wrong, I have an 04 silver stone and there are 5 different shades!!!!! Mine is lighter than wv2. I have had body mods put on and the body shophad a rough time matching product. The base is wv2 and they need your vin # and it will still be wrong. I think ours were are factory fck up.

agree, that is why it is good to get your paint VIN matched.
There are different shades. Last year at Z Days a guy had one that was noticeably darker than mine. I asked him if it was repainted and he told me no. Those guys are right about color matching the paint too. Make sure you have a good body shop do any work and let them keep the car (or a part) for reference.
WTF. Why oh why would they have four colors with the same name?? Let's have a thread that defines them and then we can make up appropriate names for the "shades". Whoever specifically defines them should get his/her initials in at least one of the shades.

I just had some body parts painted silverstone and quite frankly there are an infinite number of silverstone colors depending upon paint manufacturer, substrate and ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, light) according to my painter/body man. Also weighing in, is the fact that silverstone is a metallic further complicates the color. My guy did five "spray-outs" all silverstone and guess what....all were different shades of silverstone! To match the color, he actually had to use a special "camera" that was placed against the side of the car in various places and downloads the "color" to computer hooked up to his paint mixing machine. The proof was in the pudding as they say, the match was perfect and the parts when installed, looked like factory.
The guy is good and a perfectionist (one of the new shops in New England certified by Mercedes) and knows his $hit.....

I was looking at SS but asked if they had a darker gunmetal.
