Unhappy Need some help please

New to the forum. Just found out it existed last night. I bought an 04 350z last friday. Been having window problems with the passenger side. I did the search on here and found out a little but when I open the door the window cracks. Sometimes when I close it it just sits there and other times it goes back up. Sometimes it goes up and down a few times. How do I reset the motor or whatever I was reading about to see if that will help and if not no one really said for sure is that the motor that's messing up or what? Also really stupid question but how do I get the passenger vent off the door, do I have to take the panel off or does it pull out. Thx in advance for any help. Sorry my first post is a question but it always rains here and I really need to get my window fixed. I've always been into bikes, I have an 05 Hayabusa but have loved the z since I first saw one and could finally get one at a great price. Thx in advance.

I have a haunted window as well. I've read you can reset the window by taking off the door panel and pushing some button (green maybe). I'll have to check on that. But welcome nonetheless.

It took me several tries to get it right, the dealer said to lower the window, hold the button in, raise the window (without using the auto up feature), let go of the button, lower the window (without using the auto down feature). And that is it.

I expected to find an electronic type of reset switch. All this button does is line up internal plastic gearing of some sort (I could not resist tearing it apart). Reminds me of my old 280ZX. It had a voice recording that told you different things like "door is ajar". I for the source of the recording and it was a vinyl record.

Yes, It sounds like your motor might need reset,,but our Z's are plagued with bad window motors....You also have to take the door panel off to get the vent out....There is a step by step DIY on the site for taking the door panels off. If you need any help feel free to PM me..I hope this helps..

On the passenger side, to get the door panel off, you:

1. Pull the inside door handle and pry out the small plastic piece shaped kind of like a jigsaw puzzle piece
2. remove the 10mm bolt recessed in the exposed hole
3. CAREFULLY pry out the brushed AL trim in the center of the pull handle
4. remove the two 10mm bolts recessed at either end of the pull handle
5. remove the pull handle
6. pop up the switch panel (start from the rear; this may take some effort), unplug it and set asside.
7. remove the two exposed screws securing the door panel to the door structure
8. pop off the door panel. Grap the vent hole at the leading edge of the panel (where it meets the dash) and give a sharp tug to start popping the push pins loose, then work your way around. Once loose, lift up and off.
