Hey guys,
There's two main reasons to get a polyurethane front bumper.
First reason is fitment - a polyurethane mold is a steel mold that often costs over $10K to make. Unlike a fiberglass mold it doesn't warp or wear (causing fitment issues) as time goes on and because of the substantial investment most manufacturers pay more attention to proper fitment.
Cracking - Urethane is very similar to ABS plastic where it is not brittle and prone to cracking. In fact it can handle and absorb impact and low-speed collisions much better than fiberglass or carbon fiber (this is why OEM bumpers are not fiberglass).
Incidently we have a special on the Nismo style front bumper in Polyurethane.

But even if you don't get our bumper, consider polyurethane - a lot of times it's worth not having the headache of a cracked bumper or lip down the road!
Cheers,
Gary

+1, I've seen several people who had slammed/lowered cars and fiberglass body parts. Needless to say them body parts were trashed/cracked after bottoming out just once.

**** on me....... I wish i was local!!!!!
love the bumper. i've put it through countless pavement-slams and even a low speed collision. it looks like the day i bought it, lol. the paint isn't holding up too well though =( i'm actually surprised at how resiliant this bumper is, i know how flexible polyurethane is, and the stuff i put it through sometimes...very impressive to say the least.
BTW sorry for the not so great pic. it was starting to turn into rain at the time of my shot, and tomorrow is gonna be worse so it's now or never. Pic. is some what blurry but fitment is dead on though it may look a little off in places, trust me it's not, just bad lighting.
Plastic--I wouldn't do it any other way! I have had poly on my 91 and 94 300zxTT's and they have stood the test of time--they still look great. I actually went with a different bumper, b/c everyone seems to have the one for sale (I got the Stillen Series 2 bumper) and I have not seen another on the road yet--but its poly and I wouldn't do it any other way!
