Help! I need this gauge pod covered!
I decided to mold/fiberglass on a single gauge pod on a pillar with a small rack that I will use to house my PLX R500 device at the bottom. Below is a picture of what it looks like so far. The plan was to paint the piece, but I think I've decided to cover it in some sort of carbon fiber vinyl. Everywhere I have been locally will do it but says there will be a seem on the top tip of the gauge pod itself. I know I've seen several gauge pods on this site covered using a different technique, so who can I contact about having this done?
Thanks in advance!

ok for that peice I would suggest the dip method for a carbon look. What they do is put the part in a vat of water and then lay the carbon sheet on top of the water. as you pull it up out of the water the carbon will lay on it evenly. Not all shops have it and there are a few names for the method, but look for that process.

If you dont have a seam it will look like shiet! plus doing it w/0 a seam w/carbon fiber vinyl the pattern would be all over the place, you have been told correctly you'll need a seam.

Does anyone have a picture of what this seam will look like if I decide to have it covered in vinyl by a local shop? The shop I was talking to said they would use some sort of french stitching to join the seam.
Any pictures that could help me make my decision would be great!!!!!
