Default stillen hood solution

A lot of people when they saw the 07 hood immediately thought that it would fit over the stillen blower, but those of use who have the stillen s/c know that our hood cowl is pretty high up.

I know the 07's do have a significantly larger amount of clearance though, so my idea is to use an 07 hood with hood spacers to create even more clearance.

Any thoughts? Does anyone know just HOW MUCH more clearance an 07 hood has? Does anyone know what the various sizes of hood spacers are?

If this worked, I would take a serious look at replacing my stillen hood with an OEM 07 and spacers. Im pretty sure this is wishful thinking.

Did some searching and I can't find a thing about the hood spacers except that motordyne used to sell them, but they aren't on the website anymore. I've e-mailed motordyne, hopefully they will get back to me.

I recall seeing a picture of a Z with the spacers on a while back but couldnt find that either.

You could also prop it like people do with the 240's, S13's. Unless that's what you mean by spacing the hood...

IIRC, you can just prop the hood by fitting some washers underneath the hood bolts near the front windshield. My friend did this with his 240sx and it works pretty well and still looks decent.

I'm pretty sure that the 07 hood will definitely not work with the Stillen. The 07 is only slightly larger than the 03-06.

well i know its only slightly, but thats why the spacers. I found out that the motordyne spacers are 1.25 inches which is a decent spacing...

that hump on the 07s appears to be right where the highest part of the stillen hood is also....

can you elaborate? it appears that the highest part of the 07 hood is in the same spot as the highest part of the stillen... or close to it.
