im definitly interested are these just for the older Z or for 06 and up too? Also when you wire it are the lights on all the time until the blinker blinks then they blink or never on then blink when blinker is on??

you have your options. All they need is a 12v source. You can wire to come one with the headlights/running lights or you can wire to the blinker.

Id suggest blinker, since the leds are amber.

i just think it would look cool with them and the parking lights on at the same time. Plus with the headlights on they wouldnt be too noticable or look bat at all in my opinion. Is there a way to have them come on with the lights and blink with the blinker lol best of both worlds?

does not work on 06's.

03-05 share the same reflector
06-07 share the same felector

best of both worlds is possible.

Power from the running lights to activate the leds. Then use a switch to reverse the current flow (like a relay but different internals/outputs). Leds only light with the current going one way, swtich the direction and they turn off.

So, the lights will run all the time, then when the blinkers blink on, your lights go off, and when the blinker goes off your leds blink. I guess you could also blink in unisom too.

from what? the reverse of current?

current can only flow one way in a led, so when the switch switches, no current flows. Its really an off switch i guess but in a weird way.

going to use a dpdt switch to make them blinker and reflector alternate flashing. The marker will stay lit with the running lights and will turn off when the blinker is on, and back on again when the blinker is off (they will alternately flash)

5 bucks per side!

decided not to run them like that, took the easy way out. Theyll just blink with the blinkers and thats all. Once i thought about it (after i bought the extra parts of course) itd look weird for the reflector to blink and then go back to solid again.

working on the writeup, decent pictures just got to make a description. Worst part about the install is removing the bumper, the rest is pretty much cake.

What do you mean when you have a switch? True, LED's only conduct in one direction, but most LED's can't handle a reverse voltage of more than 5V. If you make it so it has 12V on each side you are fine, but if you constantly run with 0V on the anode (+ side) and 12V on the cathode (- side) of the LED, you run a pretty strong risk of premature failure.

use a spdt relay that is normally a closed circuit. when you trigger the relay, itll open the ckt. You can run the ground through the relay. Once the relay activates, you have a open ckt and the leds will turn off. I found a small relay at radioshack, but decided not to use it for now.

as far as leds handling the the switching the leads, i dont quite follow the 5v thing. I can rotate a led on a 9v battery and havent seen any negative effects. Rotate it again where current flows and the led burns up as expected. I havent researched or read about the 5v issue, therefore i dont know.

OK, using the relay to open the circuit is a good idea, I just wanted to know how you did the switching.

With the reverse voltage, it is highly dependent on the LED. The standard LED (5mm leaded ones) are anywhere between 5-10V
http://www.rohm.com/products/databoo...df/sli-560.pdf

That one has a reverse breakdown of 9V.

http://www.liteon.com.tw/OPTO/SPEC/D...LTL912SxKS.pdf

That one has a typical of 20V.

Just something to think about when you're building these things. Get high quality LED's and it won't matter, but it is something to be aware of.
