Open trunk

Take off the trim...

Take off the bolts from underneath.

Now use some dental floss and a heavy duty blow dryer to remove the 3m tape that is holding on the spoiler.

Goo-be-gone will remove the rest of the residue.

Don't forget to close the trunk at some point before you drive.

Remember you will have four holes in your trunk that will need to be covered, sealed, etc unless you're installing a wing that accomplishes that.

Glad you got it done. Not sure what the deal is with using the 3M tape. The factory could have just as easily done four screws and called it a day.

I don't see why they didnt just use double sided adhesive for the rear trunk lip spoiler like BMW does with their M cars. Meh...

I guess it would be to keep the corners from lifting and water getting in. The OEM is hollow enough to hold some water in there.

+1
When I bought my spoiler off of a fellow member, I just shaved down the bolts and 3M'd it on. It's been securely adhered on the trunk for 3 years.

For potential thieves with dental floss, I like to hide in bushes with a baseball bat so beware.

Having water in there is the last of my worries.
