Default Seibon oem hood problem

I bought a seibon oem hood about a year and a half ago. Well ive noticed that there have been more and more craters all over the top of the hood. Its getting pretty bad. I know its not suppose to do that. I sent some pictures to the vendor that I bought it from and he sent it to seibon. Well seibon wrote back and said its normal and that they wont do anything. So I wrote back to the vendor and basically told him it wasnt normal and it wasnt fair. So he emails me back and tells me to email some guy at seibon and tell him whats going on. I just want a new hood or my money back. Im not asking for a heart transplant.
It doesnt even fit well either it shuts tighter on the side of the drivers headlight and theres a big gap on the side of the passenger headlight. I could never get it to fit right. Now I have 2 problems with the hood. I dealt with the hood not fitting right but now all the craters I just want to throw the hood away. I havent even emailed the guy at seibon. I dont even know what im going to say because I have a feeling that hes not going to help me at all.
I wish the vendor would just send me a new hood.

I did not know Seibon makes crappy hoods. Do all their hoods turn to **** after a year or so? who makes a good Carbon fiber hood?

I hate to say it but after a yr and a half, there is no way your going to get a new hood or money back. If the hood had craters after like a month then yes. But your talking 18+ Months. Good luck on getting your car back in tip top shape though.

After 18 months you wont get anything. Here's a few questions...do you leave your car in the sun for extended periods of time? I see your in Mass, do you leave the hood on during the winter? Are you boosted? How often do you wax your car? Sounds too me like you may need a new clear coat.

The car is garages year round. I dont drive it in the winter. I left the hood on the car during the winter. No im not boosted. I dont think the hood should be doing this at all. Not even if its been 18 months. I wax my car maybe 3 times a year.

Have you tried buffing it?

first thing I would try is buffing it. If that doesn't help, then get it re-cleared. That usually costs $100 or so. I wax all my CF parts once a month.

about your fitment...did you try adjusting your latch catch ?

its the resin, no amount of buffing is going to solve it

Keeping carbon parts waxed is very very important. Otherwise the resin starts to basically "bake" and causes the uneveness you see

after 18 months, I would not expect a new one either at this point, but perhaps you can convince your vendor to give you a new one at cost, then you can sell that locally I bet for an insanely cheap price to at least recoupe some funds

Think it could be fixed with a new clear?
