Default anybody know?

does anyone make a carbon fiber roof & those things that go from the hood over the windows to the hatch? i mean if you could eliminate 20 pounds from that high up, that would seriously reduce body roll & such am i right?

To my knowledge, they are overlays only...to replace those completely would require completely removing the the whole top of the car. Also, they're structural, so if someone is brave enough to fabricate the whole roof and pillar assembly out of carbon fiber, they better know a lot about structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and DOT approval. And about the "...reduce body roll...," you could actually hurt your handling due to any excessive twisting if the C/F isn't engineered just perfectly...pretty big & risky undertaking.

There are several Z's on the forum with the overlays...

yeah but the overlays up there feel like theyre fairly thick alluminum. if you could just get dry carbon overlays itd save alot of weight. I wouldnt touch any of the chassis, thats complicated stuff.

Without cutting out the roof, there is no way to eliminate the weight there. Adding an overlay would just add weight.

I think the pillars could be replaced, but I'm not sure there would be a noticeable difference. The cost would outweigh the benefit.

aye. Anybody know of a good way to eliminate weight high up over the front axles? i dont wana eliminate any more weight from the rear, i already have the spare/jack yanked out so that probably threw the f/r weight distribution off enough.
