Default Screen mesh for bodykits

I'm looking to buy some "black" mesh for my inserts. Where do you go for this? Nobody seems to know anything. I currently have the stainless type now. I went to primer it and paint it but the paint would not stick. The slightest bump and it chips off. Do you think I need to sand blast it too? I would just like to buy it that way. So could someone give me a place to call?

I think some people make their own mesh by buying them at Lowes' or Home Depot.

you can use your old mesh, just sand blast it, or get some sand paper and scuff it up realy good and make it smooth then a few coats of primer let it dry, then a few coats of clolor. you should be good to go on that

www.customcargrills.com

I bought the universal XXL Diamond mesh podercoated black. It's aluminum so it's light. I received it and I like it.

Thanks for all your feedback. I think I'm going to try the sandblasting first with several coats. If not I'll use the links above to solve.

You can also try your local bodyshop -- they'll have it lying around and may be willing to sell some to you. DTM Autobody hooked me up with some scrap material that was perfect (but I only needed less than 12" square).

DTM told me they buy theirs from M1 Autosports.

Use Self Etching Primer. I use SEM Products, I buy it from my Auto Paint Supplier

Do you have a link for M1 Autosports?

sorry JET -- I don't -- I tried searching it and I find references to it by other people but no website. if you get desperate you could call DTM Autobody and ask for Maggie or Mia -- they should have the number.
