After 3 years, my windshield is showing it's age. When the sun hits it just right, it looks like it was sandblasted.

Question:
Are differences in quality between different windshield manufacturers?

 

you and me both my windshield has been like that for a looong time.

try a claybar to remove the dirt from any of the pitting... or get some safelight on the spot glass replacement.

I wonder how much? 150-200?

 

Three weeks after delivery of my Z in 2002, I cracked the OEM windshield. A non Nissan replacement has served me well ever since, but I think that the aftermarket glass resistance to chipping is not what the OEM windshield was, as I have NUMEROUS small galls! Replacement back then for the Nissan glass was around $700 IIRC!

 

I'm a lucky one, my buddy's father retired from PPG. He gets me new windshields for about $100.00. Other than replacing it, I highly recommend the claybar. It works wonders.
