First time I saw this, I was like Then I found out they were OEM. Then I noticed most newer cars are going clear. Seems to be the new trend.

Nope, I give credit to CarlosCh, he was one of the first to sport 'em. It was his car that inspired me to get it. I know CarlosCh was getting alot of haters bashing the tails. But once it gets sported by respected forum members, the bashing goes away.

Again, if you keep your eyes peeled, most of the newer cars have the clear look... not necessarily "Altezza" where you had a red center that lights up... but ALL CLEAR where the lights are. Look at the new hatch STi. It's a trend like a high belt line design you see now in a lot of cars.

 

imo, they look best on lighter colors.

Had to take the plunge, I have a CS so I hoping they look good! Once I seen them on the Redline I was hooked, but everyone else say they look like "euro clears"! My reply to them is STFU all of you jump in your "JDM" eg hatches and get outta here! Funny how they think the eg hatch is the JDM shrine, lol.

Yes, definitely! Didn't think these tails would look good on black...but now it's growing on me. But, it would def look better with a greyish overlay! I'm thinkin FX45 taillights on a Z= HOT!

So has anyone painted these? I'm painting my healights blue to match my car, do you think it would look kind of strange if I painted the tail lights blue to match the car too?

 

I think they offer a much cleaner look on black Z's. Especially if your rims have a shiny metal look.

And would the JDM tails look good on blue? Does silver wheels look good on blue? Silver wheels match on every color out there! So wouldn't one think that these tails will match on any color?

If anybody is still weary, here's the new Impreza again, this time in blue. Gives a general idea.

 

I have seen the JDM tails on a DB Z....i don't have pics, but it doesn't look half bad.

 

haha, actually I've never thought it would look good on a black Z..but after seeing what Robin's cooking, it looks superb after all! It would look cool all of us rocking JDM taillight at HIN..
