Have a question for anyone out there that can settle this. I have an 05 Z without the factory navigation. So the compartment where it goes the door just flips up and stays up, it doesnt slide into the console like the ones with the navi. A lot of my friends cars dont have that option either but their doors still slide into the console. Is it a defect on my car????

 

I have an understanding that only the 03 (maybe the 04 too) are the ones with the retracting cubby door. After that they just open up and stay that way.

I have the 03 with no Navi, but it retracts, and i think in the ones with the navi opening and retracting is auto.

 

i have an 03 with nav. it opens and clothes.

 

My 05 is like that, opens up and stays open. I think the 06's slide in after opening.

 

From 2004 models on, they changed it. Only models with NAV get the motorized cubby that slides in.

 

thanks guys i wasnt sure when they cut off year was. i didnt even know they were motorized. i'm glad mine isnt, just another part to eventually break probably.

 

+1.. My 2003 still slides back, but all my team mates doors stay open. There's are all +2005 models.
