Anyways, here is an interesting blog I found.
When we first started the OG blog, we weren’t exactly sure of our focus. The focus is becoming more clear. Here’s a fine example. Take a look at this side mirror. Craftsquare? I think not. Let’s point out the differences without naming names.
Imperfect mounting holes lead to unaligned bolts.
Not a perfect fit. Unaligned and a bit wobbly. The base you see here is painted a gloss silver. Possibly plastic, but not quite sure. Craftsquare mirrors are aluminum.
Totally off. Good from far, but far from good. Honestly, I didn’t notice these things initially. I had to be told what to look for. Comparisons make things really clear. I would’ve bought these and then been unhappy afterwards. For most, it’s too late. So we do what we can to educate by pointing these things out. (One of our focuses)
Here is a Craftsquare mirror. None of the above-mentioned issues apply. And we haven’t even had a chance to discuss the mirror or housing yet. In the past week, I’ve had 3 people tell me how amazingly perfect these fit. Like OE. Once again, attention to detail is everything. Oh, and let’s not forget the most important thing..the shameless copying of intellectual property is not cool..

nice....again, the same stuff I've been pointing out all along vs the replicas
These are pricey yes...but they are truly a nicely made piece. As such, they command a premium, and its well worth it.
I've got countless 150+ mph blasts "under" my mirrors....sitting out in snow and rain, rocks hitting them. I've yet to have a single issue. I've never had to touch any of the hardware to 'tweak', and there is not a single spec of rust on any of the hardware (telling you not only is it stainless, but its good stainless....cheap stainless rusts).
And the bonus is the field of vision is bigger with these vs stock - the slight difference in "height" that you lose on these is more than made up for in width - which to me is more important. I can literally be in the left hand lane of the LIE and see completely into the right lane - can't do that on stock mirrors.

other members posted their issues they had with the Autotechnik ones, and the fixes. i've never personally had any looseness issues.
the craftsquares are definately nice mirrors.. a little more than twice the price.. is it 'twice the goodness?' hm. that's subjective to your own opinions..
about that blog, since you posted it up... it's 1 thing to be **** about a 1mm gap where your side mirrors attach to the door, but its kinda hypocritical to then Drive around if your body kit has a cracks and chips.
there are places where one should put effort, and other places where to ignore it.
