Default Metal Interior Pieces

I was just wondering what I could do to get rid of the metal piece surrounding the shift ****. What type of part I would have to buy because after leaving it out in the sun it gets way to hot to drive. I know the shift **** can easily be screwed off and replaced.

Edit: Something of this sort https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....center+console. Does it have to be custom molded or are there premade ready to install pieces being made?

why would you want to do that? The stock trim around the shifter is a nice touch and blends with the rest of the interior (door handles, pedals, door sills, Z badge on the wheel, etc)...

i use window shades when i park at work. Or just keep a ball cap in the car and cover the stick, it won't get as hot.

Cheers
