Seems like if they were inteded to be painted and not stand out, they are in the wrong location, and strangely seem to still stand out. Looks weird, more weird than unpainted.

Hmmm, with a picture now, I guess it depends on the person. I wouldn't do it on my SB, but to each is own. I think the factory door handles makes the car stand out, and makes it look unique. The door handles even affected my rim choice, lol.

Although I have wondered how the handles would look chromed. The main problem I see with chroming them is that they would probably be realllllly hot to touch, so it wouldn't make much sense, but I really think it would be sweet looking, lol.

It looks good, but I think I like it unpainted. I guess I probably got used to it. If it would have come out that way, then maybe turned the other way. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks guerojo, and dwende it is base clear. The guy that painted them used a straight black with no other colors just straight out of the can. Didn't even bother with paint code and it came out perfect.

However, in your head, you'll think it looks great and you're better off, while everyone else ponders the mistake you made.
why does everyone make it seem like you need to be a rocket scientist to paint a frickin door handle?? Its just like painting a body kit, or any other body panel on a car. Any decent body shop can paint door handles perfectly to match the rest of the car, its quite simple....cant figure out why so many people think its such a tough thing to do.

Yeah, girls usually notices the door handles first.
That's cause most girls like really shiny things.

Painted does look good, wouldn't work on my car since I'm going for the two tone thing.

I like the standout-ish.

To paint plastic door handles is different in most cases. The flex a lot, have a backside that should be painted, have lots of crevices, are usually made out of an odd material, and in many cases are textured. To do a QUALITY job on a lot of cars requires some know how. However, in the case of the Z, it looks like it would be pretty easy.
