Default Removing Pinstripe?

So when i bought my Z it came with a pinstripe on both sides and i didn't really mind it. However recently i'v wanted to start modding the appearance such as tinted windows, smoked headlights, carbon fiber accents, but i think it would all look strange with a bright white pinstripe running down the side.

I was wondering if you guys had any advice on how i could get the pinstripe off. Should i take it to the dealer and ask them to do it or do it myself? I'v heard articles about using a hairdryer but a couple sites said that the paint color would be different under the pinstripe. I figured since it's an 06, the paint under the stripe couldn't be that much different. Whats the safest way to remove a pinstripe without damaging the paint?

Or should i even remove it at all? Heres a pic where you can see the pinstripe down the side.

eewwwww! Mine came with a pinstripe too. I took lots of **** for it!
I finally borrowed one of those 3M eraser wheels and took it off. Its basically a wheel that attaches to a drill and is made of a gummy-like material like an eraser. It will remove the pinstribe without ruining the paint. You can probably get one at an autoparts store easy enough.

Awesome, thanks man. Did you notice a color difference from where the pinstripe use to be?

no color difference. I'm not sure why anyone would think that would be the case unless the paint on the rest of the car has faded for some reason.

I don't have them right now, its what i'm planning on buying soon and i figured with everything being tinted a big white pinstripe down the side would look even worse than it does now.
