Default Oem carbon fiber or Seibon TS

Looking at getting a carbon hood but i cant decide which one would look better on a chrome silver z. I have smoked tail lights and black rims with a chrome lip, any suggestions?

I like my TS, tho I feel baller driving around with an unpainted CF hood. the seibons are not much lighter than stock (2-3 lbs) but they look nice, and I like to think my vents keep it cooler

hey Gsazabi, your hoodpins look nice! is there a reason some people put them horizontal rather than vertical? I have some but haven't put them in yet. Is one way right for the Z and one way wrong?

Also - is the seibon TS a replica of a more expensive CF hood? or original seibon design?

Seibon's "TS style" hood is a replica of the hood made by Top Secret in Japan. the genuine Top Secret one costs like $1500 - i got mine on ebay for $575 shipped.

I recently installed a TS with Aerocatch pins on my Redline (left it unpainted for the time being and it looks pretty decent, actually ... maybe in a few months I will have it painted)

For your car color I would go OEM style though, I feel the lighter colors get along well with parts that do not add extra detail to your bodywork (no vents or any other "thingies"). Darker colors actually go well with that kind of things (cannards, vents, etc.) Just my opinion though.

I highly recommend the Aerocatches... they are great! (Thanks to Intense Power!)

No, the Seibon "TS" is an original design. The Seibon TS2 is replicated of the Top Secret hood...there's a big difference.

for the Z you are correct; the "TS2" is the Top Secret design for the 350Z. however, you are wrong about the "TS1" being an original Seibon design.

The S2000 genuine TopSecret CF hood (aka "TS1" for the Z) - $1750

the "TS1" for the 350Z is just a replica of the genuine TopSecret S2000 hood (for the Z).

No. It's just style preference. Horibontal, vertical, diagnal, it doesn't matter.

The TS S2k hood has the vent closer to the window. It could be based off numerous hoods (GTC, TS, etc).

But yes the TS2 is a replica of the 350z Top Secret hood.
