Nismo GT titanium knob: which size of custom shift boot ??
Hello everyone...
I am in the process of installing a Nismo GT titanium shift **** (32865-RN013) on my Nissan 350Z.
I have browsed this forum for pics of installed ones and i have seen many pictures of finalized installations...
This is what I would NOT like (picture A):

This is (sort of) what i would like (picture B):

The "rubber ring" as seen on the lower part in this picture is what it helps making a better final look...
But of course... Nismo does not supply this part with the titanium **** but only (as far as i understood) with the alluminium ones.
Is this right?? Where can i find one.. or where can i find something like that?
Also... I have been looking into a "custom shift boot" from Red Line Accessories.
I have orange interiors.. and my "premium choice" would be this one...

Thing is.. i'd like to have just the "right amount of material" there w/out having to see too many foldings of the leather as seen in picture A and partially in picture B.
Could someone that has Nismo GT **** + red line shift boot point out what would be the right size when ordering from them a custom shift boot?
They have these choices:

What would the the "ideal" lenght in order to have a nice fit?
I thank in advance whoever will want to spend 2 mins of his time in this boring topic helping me out!
Ciao, Carlo

that rubber piece youre looking for is from bathroom parts from homedepot...if you look hard enough you can find the instructions on how to make it here cuz i dont remember what parts they bought.
i know the pic with the one you like had instructions or an explanation to what he did, and theres also another one in which ppl used. (the item in this pic)

or it might be that item matched with a piece of pvc painted to match.

That's actually the rubber ballcock shank washer thingy in post #4... along with another extending plasic piece. I'm only 5'5" and have small hands, and the **** is too short to pistol grip. I needed it longer, and with the piece, it feels much, much better.
The rubber ballcock is HUGE and ugly shaped, and does not exactly match the size of the boot. I shaped it to my liking by mounting it on a drill bit, and using the drill as a lathe. With the piece spinning, press it against sandpaper, then finalize using fine grit.

Added the extender for feel. I just used some pvc from sprinker heads and shaped it to fit in the hole of the rubber BALLCOCK, heh, BALLCOK and **** so it never gets off center.
