Default Should I get a 330mm steering wheel? (comparrison pics to stock wheel)

I've been getting some PM's recently, regarding the size of my personal steering wheel, compared to stock. So here are my pics. Hopefully this will help you see the size differences.

Thanks synth19, this should be very helpful to a lot of people. Pics always help tons.

I would get a steering wheel but i can't imagine how much insurance would be. I'm paying ridiculous prices right now and i remember my agent was telling me that people who do modify their cars, would get racing steering wheels without airbags, and them not covering their accident fully after a collision because the person didn't let them know before hand so they can change their policy up a little.

People drove for a hundred years before airbags, not having them doesn't mean you instantly die.

Granted, but those people a hundred years ago wasn't sitting in a car with all this horsepower and top-end speed.

Also, I'm pretty sure that there was more of a chance to have a fatality in a car crash back then then it is now with airbags(if the accidents were the relatively the same).

Just my 2 cents.

As for sizing 330mm is ideal for most Z drivers, its a bit smaller than stock which is actually what works best for most.

As for losing airbags, controls, etc., thats even more of a personal reference.

For drivers that are more motorsports minded and will see more track time, they would be more likely to give up those luxuries.

Those that are on the street more and use cruise control and radio controls (later models) frequently, aftermarket steering wheels are not for them.

But is there a steering wheel that is smaller than stock, but has the air bag?

No airbag FTL. Its illogical to regress.

yea, i don't consider an airbag a "luxury" either. But the comparison photos are great. I wish there are smaller steering wheels with airbags...i'm sure that 330mm steering wheel feels much better than the stock one.

This thread was not meant to be an argument on airbags vs. no airbags. I think some may argue that airbags do more harm then good...and vice vesa. I know many guys who track their car prefer not to have front airbags as they are afraid of having the airbag go off during low-impact collisions, and doing a number on their face.

is there a way for someone to relocate the cruise control somewhere? not on the steering wheel but maybe like on the dash somewhere? Thats the only thing that has prevented me from getting an after market wheel and hub, but if someone could relocate it (correctly), i would consider this. How come side to side the aftermarket wheel looks so much smaller than stock, but when you put it on top of each other, it looks slightly smaller...

Just for reference:
Stock wheel = 14.6" ~370mm
350mm wheel = 13.8"
330mm wheel = 13"
