Default Seperate JDM Taillights

So ive had several sets of taillights in the past. At one point i tried to melt the stockers apart like ive done on so many headlights, i started pulling gently and bam, massive crack in the red lens straight through the middle. Im now on JDM and want to do some work on it but im afraid to try and take them apart. I noticed that clear corners has modded taillights with LED strips even the JDM ones, can anyone tell me how they are getting them apart? I tried PMing and emailing them with no response which i cant blame them for. Im not doing it for LED work, just some custom painting. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!

from what i know (evo forums) the taillights of any car are generally harder to take apart. did you use a heat gun, or just toss it in the oven and pry apart after they softened?

You have to cut them apart, the tailights use an epoxy that isn't susceptable to heat like the headlights
