Default PPW paint; 2 stage paint? 3 stage paint?

Good afternoon,

I tried, searching, but didn't get much luck on finding an answer to this, but does anyone, or any auto body/paint experts know if the PPW paint is a 2 stage or 3 stage paint? Just cursious so that I can budget myself. I looking to paint my nismo front bumper, skirts and rear strakes. I know it all depends on how you paint, but about how much paint do you think would be enough to paint all these parts? one quart maybe?

Thank you for any insight!

Duy

I'd probably get more base than pearl. the QX1 is the same as the QX1 on the infiniti Ivory Pearl. lay down more coats of base than pearl gives you a PPW, more pearl than base gives you IP. Exactly how much you need to paint small chips to match. But yeah it's 3 stage and not cheap.

yeah, good luck with that.....i finally just got my 07 back after a month and three trips back to the body shop to "try again" this was a pretty good shop and they just couldnt get it. i can still see a slight difference but i have just learned to deal with it. i dont think youll ever match this paint. they ended up blending into all four 1/4s and the trunk & hood.......

Blending is your friend. Blend the skirts up into the doors and then onto the fenders and then into the hood and finally up to the roof. It should match better that way.
