Default Polishing manifold to look like chrome

Has anyone polished their air intake manifold collector to look like chrome?

I'm going to put in the 5/16 spacer, And like to polish out the manifold to look like chrome when I have it off. Has anyone done this? And how did you go about doing it?

polishing is all the same. start at hi grit sandpaper and work down to 1200 or so. air tools are your friend.

I would advise not to do it yourself. It takes FOREVER. You can start trying if you would like but i guarantee that you would stop before even getting anywhere. Professionals use all types of diff sanding and buffing machines and it takes 5-10 hours. now with your hand, it would probably be a week or two job if you do it most of the day.

+1, major messy time consuming job I would never tackle. Much much easier to just do a core swap.

I would agree. You can buy em pretty cheap with a core swap. I polished my GSXR motorcycle frame several years ago and about 7hrs into it I wish I never started it. I did finish it, and it looked stunning, but it was not worth all the work... I think I found polished manifolds for like $260 with a core swap. Not bad really.....

Good job man, to even get it at that stage must have taken forever. As everyone else stated if you want that chrome look just keep it at a while longer and you will have the results you are looking for.
